Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday

Johnny Martinez, Staff Writer

Some people brush off Palm Sunday as an irrelevant holiday as they see it on their calendar, but if they knew what is celebrated, then they’d might be intrigued. Palm Sunday is celebrated on the Sunday before Easter, marking the start of holy week. The commemoration of Jesus´ entrance into Jerusalem is celebrated by the distribution of weaved palms. Each palm is handcrafted and cut from the very top and center of a palm tree. After they are cut, they are weaved, then a stamp and flower for decoration are placed in the center of it.
