BELL HIGH SCHOOL BOYS SOCCER TEAM COMPETING IN CIF
Exciting news for the Boys Soccer team, they have made it to the playoffs for division I after winning against Sylmar on March 1st 2025. As it was a tense game against the Sylmar Spartans. The Bell Eagles pulled through by winning by one goal, which ended the Sylmar Spartans 4 game winning streak. Immediately after their victory, the team beat San Luis Obispo on March 4, 2025. Setting their record to 14-8, seeing as their game on March 6, 2025 against Anaheim determines their spot for regional finals. As they came back from a losing streak, the boys soccer team proved themselves worthy for the CIF Championship.
Unfortunately, after the regional finals the boys soccer team has lost 2-3. Bell eagles put up a good fight, as they earned their CIF plaque. We asked a player from the team his experience playing in regionals and if he knows how to improve and exceed after their huge accomplishment. “The experience of being able to play in regionals is everything that we all strive for. As an individual I’m proud of where we made it even with the outcome. We showed that passion beats money although we lost, we had the other team’s toughest match. As a team we did amazing as our bond was always there and everyone put their utmost effort.” “I know what exactly to work on, thanks to my coach and some goals I have set for myself. Such as to get rid of my nerves and gain speed. As a team, we need to work to be able to create a new bond. A bond which we had this year won’t be replicated ever again, but we can make a new one that can be better or similar to the one we had. Communication, chemistry, and over conditioning is what we need as a team.” – Edgar Merida
