Pineapple on Pizza, Lawful or Sinful?

Pizza is a favorite food among many people for a long time, but there’s always one topic that sparks controversy among pizza loving fans. Does pineapple belong on pizza?
To some it may be a silly subject but to others it is a serious matter. But who first decided to put pineapple on a pizza and why? As it turns out, a Greek-born Canadian, by the name of Sam Panopoulos, was the first person to put pineapple on a pizza in 1962. As for why, he was partially inspired by his experience in making Chinese dishes that usually mix sweet and savory flavors. He experimented with adding pineapple, ham, bacon, and other toppings to a pizza, but these additions weren’t very popular at the beginning.
The pineapple pizza started to gain popularity locally and eventually globally. As for where the name “Hawaiian” came from, he named the pizza after the brand of canned pineapples he used.

I don’t think pineapple on my pizza is a great combo in my opinion, eating something sweet and sour on my pizza is just not it.

In my opinion, pineapple does not belong on pizza. One reason is that fruit does not belong on pizza, and I also just think it is nasty

I personally think pineapple on pizza doesn’t taste good. It’s not bad but I dislike the mix of sweet and savory. Plus, I hate the feeling of the small pineapple pieces when I bite into pizza. I think it’s interesting how someone just decided to try it one day.

In my opinion, Pineapple on pizza is the biggest mistake anyone can create. I understand some people like that, which is fine it’s their opinion and I respect it, but pineapple on pizza is not appetizing to me

I don’t mind pineapple on pizza because I like the mix of the sweet and savory flavors. I don’t see why people hate on it so much when they eat other snacks that are sweet and savory.

Personally I don’t like pineapple on pizza because i feel it doesn’t go with the cheese and sauce on a pizza. I also don’t like the texture of the cooked pineapple. I feel like it gets mushy.

I don’t really think it’s necessary to have pineapple on pizza. It’s such an odd topping that doesn’t relate to the pizza status. Pineapple is a fruit and pizza is part of a grain. It’s like saying you’re putting strawberries on pizza or apples on hotdogs. It’s weird, odd, and just weird again.

I totally like pineapple on pizza because I personally like the sweetness that comes with it. It also allows you to try something new, since pizza can get boring when its a plain old pepperoni. It’s not the worst thing, but I definitely think that it is something everyone should try, even if they don’t end up liking it. Don’t knock it till you try it!

Personally I don’t like pineapple on pizza. I wouldn’t ask for it, but I know people that do like it. I think it just depends on your taste and what you like.

I think that pineapple does not go good on pizza because it is a different flavor that it adds on the pizza. To be honest, I think that it is just an opinion thing to choose from, yes or no. This article is a great article, its very unique and interesting.

Honestly, I can think of worse toppings, like anchovies or cauliflower. But, yeah, pineapple pizza is vile.

Personally, I don’t like pineapple on pizza but I do understand why people like it for it being savory and sweet which can be a deal breaker for some people when it comes to their food. Although I would like to get the opinion of the writer.

I prefer pepperoni pizza but I don’t mind having pineapple on my pizza.
