Fundraiser Trouble… Kinda
Girls softball is kicking off the year searching for customers.
JV and Varsity girls were given three weeks to sell hoodies, shirts, and leggings to raise money for team gear.
For Almanza it was easy to sell because she focused going outside of school where she noticed that adults are most likely to pay for expensive items than students themselves.
“Good times,” Varsity player Brianna Almanza said, smiling.
Price was a big concern for some girls on the team who did not find students interested in paying so much money.
The item’s prices ranged from $15.50 for a shirt to $36.50 for a windbreaker.
“Prices were a little bit too expensive,” JV player Abigail Rodriguez said. Prices also increased more if students asked for a number and name on their desired pick.
The group that sells the most will have the opportunity to choose a desired piece of gear that will be provided from the coach’s own pocket.
Head coach Karla Bernal also expressed how fundraising for the team shows a “sense of community and sisterhood,” and added that her experience at Bell has been great.
