The 2025 MLB season is in full swing and baseball it’s never been a better time to be a Dodgers fan. Riding high off of last season’s championship victory and already a month and a half in, the team clearly intends to go all the way this year.
However, baseball has an extensive schedule spanning games almost everyday for the remaining 4 months. In this article, we will bring you up to speed with baseball’s Hollywood team.
Leading the National League West
As of writing this article, the Dodgers are hot off the heels of a blow out victory over the Miami Marlins. This win has placed the team over their division rival, and previous division leader, the San Francisco Giants. While there still is plenty of baseball left in the season, the Dodgers will be relieved to put themselves in the front of the pack, asserting their championship reputation.
Championship Defenders Facing Challenges
While the Dodgers are absolutely capable of reaching the play-offs this year, they are showing signs of vulnerability. The Dodgers have lost a decent amount of games however with very close deficits. Take for instance their 3-4 loss against 2023 world champions, the Texas Rangers. While, granted, the Dodgers losses are against considerable opponents, the team is not the unstoppable Goliath as portrayed by some.
Player Highlights
Finally, the stars of the show, the players. The LA Dodgers have an all-star roster in their hands with players like Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. However, behind this star studded line-up, lies relatively under the radar players. Players such as Will Smith, who in the beginning of the season, had a hitting streak spanning over a week. Now, he’s batting 0.316, placing him second on the team for averages. Speaking of averages, Teoscar Hernandez leads the team with a 0.319 batting average, for qualified players. A lot of talent on this team for sure.
The season is just starting and how exciting it has been so far. And that’s just scratching the surface of what’s new with the team. Time will only tell what the postseason holds in store for us but from these past few weeks, we’re in for a show!
